Through the 4 days training program, I learnt a lot about personal hygiene, first- aid, community sanitation, prevention of diseases and treatment of various health problems. The street play on safe motherhood was an eye opener. The interactive session where many problems were discussed really helped me and the other girls from our village.
The group meeting organized by Sahyog made us aware of our rights as consumers. We learnt about the various laws enacted by the government to protect consumer rights. The volunteers were very patient in explaining to us the procedure of filing complaints in case the delivery of goods or services has not been done in a proper manner. Indeed, their Sahyog is appreciable.
With this social awareness program, people of our village got educated about the danger of AIDS, drug addiction and alcoholism. We also realized how child marriage, dowry system and female infanticides are social malpractices. The volunteers were very helpful in assisting us and making us aware of our basic human rights.
